This is the third lesson in the free affiliate marketing and training that are being put together for you guys. This training focuses on setting up your first landing page.

If you want to view the first two training sessions before reading this then you can click the links below to complete them first.

Training One – What is Affiliate Marketing

Training Two – Choosing a Product

The video below is a tutorial on setting up a landing page.

I have also included a written description below as well, in case you like to read rather than watch.

All of the links to free trials are included in the information below the video.

What is a Landing Page?

Let’s talk about how to set up a landing page and what they are used for. You’ll have probably read in places about landing pages or squeeze pages as they are sometimes called.  They are effectively the same thing. A mini (usually one page) website, that either collects information or pre-sells a product.

How is a Landing Page used in Affiliate Marketing?

In affiliate marketing, there are two main ways that you can utilize a landing page.

The first option would be to use it as a squeeze page, so basically to squeeze somebody’s name and email address from them. Basically, you would offer something like a free e-book in exchange for their name and email address.

The benefit of this is that if you collect a list of people’s email addresses, that becomes an asset, so you cannot only promote the initial product to them, but in the future, you can find other products that will also match their needs and promote those products to them as well.

I will show you later in this article how you can create a product very quickly to give away. So don’t worry, if you haven’t got anything you can give away in exchange for email addresses right now.

The other way to use a landing page, and this is really only if you’re doing paid traffic,  is as a pre-sell page.

Basically if you have a little mini website that has the features and benefits of the product on, perhaps the story about how it’s helped somebody, you can then send traffic to that page and it pre-sells them on the product so that when they click more information and they get taken through to the sales page of the affiliate product, then they are already half sold on it so it increases conversion rates.

I would usually say collect the email addresses because that’s an asset that you can use in the long term, but it really depends on what kind of product you have chosen to promote and where your traffic is coming from as to which option would be right for you.

How Do I Set Up A Landing Page?

I am going to talk today about three platforms for setting up landing pages, I use two of them personally, but I chose three platforms for varying budgets because I know that not everybody can afford to spend a lot of money on creating a landing page.

The first and cheapest option is Wix.

Wix is a site that offers free websites. The free packages do have their branding on but you can pay a very nominal amount to remove their branding.

You can either opt to use one of their templates for their normal websites and just make one page, or you can use their landing page templates. There is a lot more choice in the website section, so this is what I would suggest using if you are planning on using Wix to build your landing page.

It’s completely a drag and drop system and you can easily add your own information and your own pictures.

Now Wix isn’t an option I have used, but if you are on a budget and you can’t afford to use one of the higher priced options I discuss later in the article. Then this might be an option for you.

You will need an email autoresponder on the back of it, this is a service that allows you to collect email addresses in one place, so that you can email them in one go at a later date. The one I use is Get Response but there are many options out there, and some of them have free plans.

Many of these website templates within Wix integrate with those email providers, but if they don’t then you can manually move those over. It’s going to be a bit more time-consuming, but it is an option.

Option two is a platform I use all the time and this is the most expensive option of the three. It starts at $97 per month, but the conversion rates are just incredible.

It’s called Clickfunnels .

Clickfunnels is a very easy to use drag and drop editor. The $97 per month package allows you to have 20 funnels.

A funnel is a flow of offers that a customer goes through. So for example, page one would become your opt in offer, page two might offer them an upgrade (also known as upsell) to a mid priced product and page three might be a thank you page (or another offer if you so wish!)

It’s really very clever!

I’ll include the links to where you can get that free trial at the end of the post. Sign up for the free trial, have a play around with it and see if it’s something that suits you. It is a little bit more expensive. But worth it.

You will again need an autoresponder service with this. I use Get Response and it integrates seamlessly with Clickfunnels, however, if you want to pay more for Clickfunnels, then they do have a more expensive package ($297 per month) which includes an autoresponder and a whole host of other features!

If you are promoting affiliate offers with Clickfunnels, it makes life a lot easier, because everything is tracked and you could send them through a funnel that included:  an opt in page, a pre-sales page and then the offer, and all of this can be completed in 20 minutes using this tool! However, you’re not going to get as m

It is by far the best tool that I have ever used when it comes to landing pages and a lot of people are abandoning their websites completely to use Clickfunnels.

There’s just so much you can do with it. It’s absolutely fantastic and you can even integrate Stripe, PayPal or other payment processors to sell products on this alone.

I’ve got a free trial for you guys for this. The link is at the bottom of the article. Have a go. Have a play around with it.

It is the most expensive option I’m going to show you today, but it is by far the best and the easiest to use.

Lastly, Get Response (the autoresponder you heard me talk about earlier) has a package where you get a landing page included. This is the mid price option.

You’ve got different price packages depending on how many contacts you’ve got, but you always get one landing page absolutely free.

I pay extra so that I’ve got unlimited landing pages but if you only need one landing page then you might go with one of the cheaper options. I currently pay about $50 a month for this, but I know that they’ve got packages for much cheaper than that.

I do have a free trial of Get Response for you too. (Link at bottom of article)

The great thing about Get Response and Clickfunnels, is that they both provide a number of landing page templates, that take very little updating. This saves a lot of time! And your time is worth money!

Again, it’s a drag-and-drop editor, so it’s really simple to use. You just click on it and you’ll be able to drag your own pictures in.

Another benefit of using Get Response is the fact that if somebody signs up on this lead page, then they’re automatically going to be added to your contacts. So everything is within the same place.

I don’t find it quite as user-friendly as Clickfunnels. It’s a little bit more difficult to edit the pages but it’s a great option if you are looking for a middle-of-the-road price.

I Need An Opt In Offer!

Ok, so I promised to tell you where to get an ebook to offer for free on your squeeze page.

Ideally, you want to create your own because you’re going to get a better quality, but if you haven’t gotten around to creating your own, then there is a little website that I want to show you and it’s One Buck Ebook.

This is a private label rights site. So you can pay $1 or $1.35 for a product and you can then use that product as your freebie on your site.

They have lots of options in all kinds of niches, so you should be able to find something to suit your audience.

They’re not going to be the greatest quality in the world but it might get you started until you can take the time to create a product yourself to giveaway.

So I hope that’s been helpful. Let me know if you’ve got any questions and how you’re getting on!
